Isabella was my first cat that I got on my own when I lived in Omaha. I had applied for a job at a local TV station and I decided that if I didn’t get the job I would get an adult cat if I did I would get myself a kitten. Granted it should have been the other way around no job = more time for a cat. So I got the job, an overnight gig at the local Fox/WB station. I went straight to the humane society to look at the kittens. They had a whole bunch to pick from but I toured the adult room just to see. And there she was. She was beautiful and in the top cage by the wall. I read her card she was 2 years old just spayed and then I noticed she had been there longer than any other cats so I just HAD to take her in to the cat room and meet her and that is when I saw… she had no tail and she had the back legs like a bunny. SHE WAS A MANX!!!!!! And the sweetest thing you ever did meet and she could talk your ear off. I knew if I didn’t adopt her then no one would… who would want an adult cat with no tail and she had already been there too long. I knew they would put her down if I didn’t take her and I wasn’t about to let that happen.
When I got her home… oh geez, that girl could TALK!! And she never stopped. I was working 12 & 14 hour shifts, the only thing I wanted was to feed the cat and go to bed. Izzy wouldn’t have it. She had a full night and by god she was going to tell me about it. She followed me everywhere… talk talk talk she would jump on the bed talk talk talk. I loved her but damn she wouldn’t shut up. She also wanted to be with me ALL the time and her favorite thing was to be carried, the longer you held her the happier she was.

The best thing was she loved to dance. I would pick her up and put in a CD mute the TV and we would dance in the living room. She would just purr and be so content. We spent many hours dancing.
Today I heard a song on the radio (the song at the top of the page) and I came home and downloaded it from Amazon. I played it and scooped up the nearest cat. Hellina bit me on the nose and wanted nothing to do with it, Duncan cried the whole time and I know better than to try and pick up Cinder. That is when my heart ached a little for my Izzy. She was an amazing girl who loved me more than anything on earth. She left me way too soon and I miss her

Oh, what a sweet little kitty. How great she had a good home with you!
Its painful to lose a pet, even more so when unexpected. You know she's waiting for you to do some more dancing :)
