The last year I went Trick-or-Treating was 16 years ago during the Halloween Blizzard of 1991. I wasn’t supposed to go out, Mom had said that the year before had been my last year because 14 was the cut off in our family. Back then the family would go over to the Cross’s for Halloween dinner with the Cross’ kids and their neighbors and all 6 kids would go out together. Well in the blizzard Patrick, Andrew and I decided to go out anyway, just around the one block. Boy did we get candy that year. Every other house they would say “oh, we were afraid no one would come and we’d be stuck with all this candy” and then split the bowl among the 3 of us. JACKPOT!!!!!
Fast forward to today. It was 70 degrees today. I know it’s not Halloween but close enough. It was just beautiful.
